This website of mine

About 9 months ago I wrote down “Release early, release often… but not too often” as a placeholder text for my to be built website. The not too often part kind of took over. As time flies, it really does. Anyhow, fast forward to today: my website is live!

My website. An introduction for the curious and a portfolio of my work.

The first project is this website itself, of course. A custom theme for WordPress to be developed on the fly, where I try out stuff and first and foremost get my head out there. Literally.

Getting my mug out

Staying low profile on the web has kind-of been my modus operandi for some time now. Therefor it’s quite a step to get your mug out in the open. So in style, I approached the design of my website as an abstract shape in which I (slowly) unveil myself.

The website opens with the silhouette of a self-portrait I shot, overlayed with a short and fitting welcome text. Even though I used two color palettes in the first design I decided to go with the more fresh and modern green to purple gradient look. I changed the design (in-browser) to combine my organic shape with a strong rectangle (reminiscent of my cover design work in music) and a subtle noisy background (hinting to my video work) to complete the homepage composition.

This isn’t my portfolio, this is my playground.

Navigation and other UI elements I approached with dynamic, get things animating in style. Fun, playful. In someway the opposite of my corporate work. But then again, if you can’t have fun on your own website — where else!

So, welcome to my portfolio playground. Have a look around.
